The Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake is North America's longest, heaviest venomous snake. They are not aggressive & generally avoid contact with people. However, bites are very dangerous to people. If bitten you should seek immediate medical care. Most bites happen when the snakes are intentionally molested or accidentally stepped on. This is a snake that should be admired at a distance.
