Eastern Milk Snake

(Lampropeltis triangulum triangulum)

Secretive snakes that are often found in open country, human habitats, road-cuts, powerline cuts, rocky hillsides, bog borders & deciduous forest. They may be found under cover objects, rocks, logs, boards, tin, or other building debris. They are also commonly found around houses, barns & outbuildings.  Small mammals are the preferred prey, but they routinely eat other snakes & may also take birds & bird eggs, frogs, fish, earthworms, slugs & insects.
