Northern Water Snakes
The Northern Water Snake can grow fairly large, up to 55” long. It has heavily keeled scales and a complex, varying pattern of reds, browns, blacks, and grays. Juveniles are often more brightly colored than the adults. It is generally found in wetlands. You may see it swimming. It primarily eats amphibians and fish.
