Panamint Rattlesnake

(Crotalus stephensi)

* VENOMOUS *

They are not aggressive & generally avoid contact with people. However, bites can be VERY dangerous to people. If bitten you should seek immediate medical care. Death from severe complications, including respiratory distress, severe paralysis, and organ failure may occur from bites without treatment. Most bites happen when the snakes are intentionally molested or accidentally stepped on. Rattlesnakes should be admired at a distance & simply left alone & not bothered.
