Florida Kingsnake

(Lampropeltis floridana)

Florida Kingsnakes are found in pinelands, hardwood hammocks, cypress strands, prairies, marshes, estuaries, sugar cane plantations, stands of melaleuca, and along drainage canals. The Brooks King was originally believed to be a subspecies of the Florida King, or "Floridana". It has since been changed and all are now considered Florida Kings.
